  SAMDA Economic Partnership ~ organization information  

SAMDA Economic Partnership Ltd. is a not-for-profit organization that is committed to fostering community economic development in the communities of Special Areas, MD of Acadia No.34, Empress, Cereal and Oyen.  These communities work regionally to advance collaboration, economic growth and build capacity.

The organization's main accomplishment have been delivering a successful regional community economic development program, working collaboratively to further the community and economic development goals, providing resources to businesses and community organizations, developing and enhancing tourism industry, creating comprehensive information about the regiona and sharing it, and delivering on a mission of proactively seeking opportunities for the member communities.

SAMDA region rolls out the Welcome mat...

$500,000 project will draw people back to rural life in the Special Areas and MD of Acadia region of Alberta

Alberta's rural communities are ready for their renaissance.  Return to Rural (R2R) is an exciting project aimed at attracting and retaining early and mid-career families to rural areas.  The provincial government has granted $400,000 to the project through the Rural COmmunity Adaptation Grant.  The funding will allow SAMDA Economic Partnership to demonstrate the quality of life in rural Alberta, and take advanctage of the opportunties created by new technolgy.  This project will expose opportunities for anyone dreaming of living a life in rural Alberta.

R2R includes networking opportunities between rural and urban residents, technology to further advance business opportunities and communiciation in rural areas, and community planning to ensure welcoming regions can offer a great quality of life to people who choose to "Return to Rural".
