Who: Ardell Hayworth
What: Hayworth Mechanical and Oilfield Services Inc.
When: Ardell ventured out as an independent in 1995.
Where: Ardell, his wife Tera and their children, Levi, Keegan and Keely, reside in the hamlet of New Brigden. In recent years Ardell built a new shop that offers ample room for multi-tasking. Ardell's clients come from near and far and his mechanical expertise extends into both the agricultural and oilfield sectors. And if the job can't come to him, Ardell is prepared to offer mobile service to those in need. To accompany his mechanical services, Ardell is known as the "tire guy" in these parts, and from time to time can be seen hitting the road for some light oilfield hauling.
Why: Ardell is a country boy at heart. He appreciates what rural living has to offer. He feels that with some drive and initiative, anything is possible, especially in these parts. We are fortunate to have both agriculture and oil and gas as two prominent primary industries in our back yard. When opportunity knocks, you're a fool not to answer the door. At the end of the day Ardell is proud to call New Brigden home. "I know my neighbors, many of whom are friends, it's a safe place for my kids to grow up and the wide open countryside is a must."
How: A regular "jack of all trades", Ardell honed his skills and interest in mechanical work while growing up on the family farm near Sedalia. Like many farm kids, it is pretty hard to avoid operating machinery, maintaining machinery and fixing machinery. Fortunately for Ardell, it was time well spent. After graduation Ardell sought employment that was mechanical in nature. He later apprenticed and received his technical training in Medicine Hat. Ardell is a Journeyman, certified as an Automotive Service Technician.
